R3 National scale up of CCE maintenance with Nexleaf, RBC and Gavi
National Scale-Up of CCE Maintenance.
Over the last two weeks, We for Health, in collaboration with Nexleaf Analytics and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), supported the Ministry of Health in strengthening Cold Chain Equipment (CCE) maintenance systems across Rwanda
Through the R3 national scale-up, 203 health centers participated in the training, with 406 healthcare workers trained — including vaccinators and heads of health facilities.
Delivered through a blended learning approach combining virtual modules and face-to-face practical sessions at hospital level, the training focused on vaccine storage and handling, basic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting common equipment issues, documentation and reporting, and safety precautions.
By strengthening the capacity of frontline healthcare workers to maintain and monitor cold chain equipment, this initiative contributes to reducing equipment downtime, preventing temperature excursions, minimizing vaccine wastage, and ensuring safe, reliable immunization services for communities nationwide.
Stronger systems. Skilled health workers. Protected vaccines.
