Last week marked a significant milestone in the shift from Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Week campaigns to a routine, community-based model of service delivery.

Under RBC’s leadership, local leaders and health stakeholders in Nyabihu District were oriented on the transition. This was followed by cascade training for CEHOs and CHWs on integrating MCH services such as vitamin A supplementation, deworming, and growth monitoring using height boards.

UNICEF, through We for Health consultancy, supported RBC by providing technical expertise in both theory and hands-on practice. Practical sessions took place directly in the community, equipping CHWs with skills in service delivery and digital reporting via the Community EMR system.

This collaborative effort strengthens the community health system and ensures more sustainable, equitable access to essential maternal and child health services.
